Welcome from the Associate Dean
Greg Lindsey, Associate Dean and Duey-Murphy Professor
On behalf of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI, I welcome you to our Web site. Whether you are a prospective student, one of our thousands of successful alumni, or a colleague interested in our research, we hope you will explore our site and learn more about the innovative work we are doing.
SPEA IUPUI is ranked among the top 35 schools in public affairs and administration nationally by U.S. News and World Report, and our graduate programs in criminal justice and nonprofit management are ranked third and fourth in the nation, respectively. We offer the only accredited Master of Health Administration program in Indiana. We serve more than 900 undergraduate and graduate students. Our Center s for Urban Policy and the Environment and Health Policy annually conduct millions of dollars of research that is shaping public policy in Indiana and beyond.
If you are a prospective student, I congratulate you on your decision to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree. Your decision to attend college or graduate school is important and will serve you well in your future. Our goal at SPEA is to help you reach your academic and professional goals by providing you with an outstanding professional education in your chosen field of study. We know the world is increasingly complex and competitive and that after you graduate, you will be competing with talented people from throughout the world for good jobs. At SPEA, you will take interesting, thought-provoking, and rigorous courses taught by experienced faculty. You will learn from an extraordinary group of full-time and associate faculty who are experts in their fields, good teachers, and committed to your success. As a student, you will have many opportunities to learn, both on your own and as a member of teams, in settings that include the classroom, internships, and service learning projects. You will graduate well prepared to join fellow alumni as leaders in service to society.
If you are an alumna/us, I hope you will take the opportunity to connect or reconnect with us. Email me (glindsey@iupui.edu) or the Indiana Alumni Association if you have questions about our programs, want to receive program updates through SPEA Speaks or our alumni publications, or wish to participate in alumni activities. We always are seeking volunteers to help us recruit and serve our students, help build new programs within the School, or join us for continuing education programs. You are a very important part of SPEA, and we're glad you've visited our Web site!
If you are a professional colleague interested in our research or collaboration with our faculty or staff, I encourage you to read about the exciting work people are doing and to visit our Center's web pages. If you have questions about our projects or the research you read about, contact us!
I am confident that you will find here information that you can use. We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
