IUPUI Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis

Homeland Security and Emergency Management Certificate

This interdisciplinary certificate is designed for people who will work in all levels of government, or with government contractors, private firms and nonprofits. The 15-credit program is also beneficial for those looking to advance in their careers, from a technical or professtional role to a leadership position.

Students now have the option of earning the certificate entirely online, or by combining online and in-person courses. Students who successfully complete the HSEM certificate can apply those credits earned toward the 36-credit Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Public Safety. Students who complete the HSEM certificate with a 3.5 GPA can apply for a waiver of the GRE requirement for the Master’s degree.
