Certificates enhance your undergraduate studies and life experiences with an in-depth exploration of a certain area, such as nonprofit management, public management, social entrepreneurship, homeland security and emergency management. Certificates are a great way to test whether graduate studies suit you without committing to a full graduate degree program. (And if a certificate does lead you to further grad studies, you can request a waiver of the GRE/GMAT/LSAT if you complete a SPEA graduate certificate with a 3.5 GPA or higher.) Other students choose certificates when they find themselves in a job that requires knowledge of an area they haven’t previously studied.
