Please use these guideline when preparing to submit your manuscript to NVSQ.
- Manuscripts should be submitted to Manuscript Central at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/nvsq.
- On the login screen of Manuscript Central please enter your email address into the "Password Help" area to see if an account has already been created for you. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one by clicking the 'Create Account' link at the top right of the screen.
- If you are uploading a revision and have had your original manuscript go through the traditional process before this new system, please make sure to include your original manuscript number.
- Any questions can be answered by the help section on the site, click 'Get Help Now' at the top of any screen, through the 24 hour support line, or can be emailed to the Editorial office at nvsq@iupui.edu.
- On the title page, include all authors' name/s, affiliation/s, address/es, phone number/s, fax number/s, e-mail address/es and discipline of specialty and a short (2-3 sentence) biography of each author.
- In the main document, remove ALL identifying information. Double space and left-justify everything with a ragged right-hand margin (no full justification.)
- Include an abstract of 150 words or less.
- Insert "markers" indicating placement of tables/figures ([Table 1 Here]).
- Begin each section on a separate page and in this sequence: abstract, text, appendix(es), notes, references, each table, each figure.
- TEXT IN THE MAIN DOCUMENT SHOULD BE GENERALLY LIMITED TO 20 PAGES MAX.
- End notes are used for discursive purposes only. They should be grouped on a separate page. There are no footnotes.
- All in-text citations are included in the reference list; all references have in-text citations.
- Follow the APA style for your citations and reference list.
- Figures are camera ready; they appear exactly as they should in the journal, except for sizing.
- NVSQ cannot accept submissions that are under consideration by another publisher.
- PLEASE NOTE: This journal does not accept Microsoft Word 2007 documents at this time. Please use Word's "Save As" option to save your document as an older (.doc) file type.
Permissions:
Written, signed permission must be obtained for (a) all quotations from copyrighted publications and (b) all tables or figures taken from other sources.
Permission is required to reprint:
- More than 300 words from a single journal article.
- More than 500 words from a full-length scholarly book.
- Anything, even a few words or a phrase, quoted directly from a newspaper article, magazine, poem or song.
- Anything quoted directly from a news broadcast.
- Any table or figure reproduced or adapted from another work.
ANY direct quote requires a page reference or a reference to the name of the person and the date of the interview.
Any quotes without permissions must be paraphrased or deleted if the manuscript is accepted for publication. Please check with the journal editor for more information.
