Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities
IUPUI offers many scholarships for both incoming freshmen and continuing students. Scholarships recognize academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The following scholarships are available for SPEA freshmen and continuing students:
New SPEA Student Scholarship
An award of $500 for a beginning (first semester) student majoring in one of SPEA's academic programs. Qualified students must have graduated in the top 25% of their high school class and earned a SAT score of 1000 or more (or ACT score of 21 or more). Essay and transcript must be submitted with application to the IUPUI Office of Student Scholarships. Deadline is March 1.

Jason Baker Award
An award of $500 will be given to provide recognition and financial support to a SPEA student who wishes to pursue a career in law enforcement. There is no GPA requirement and essays will be judged on the student's ability to demonstrate good character, integrity, discipline and commitment to the profession of law enforcement. Deadline is March 1.

Cory R. Elson Scholarship
Approximate award of $2,000 in the form of credit for tuition and fees at IUPUI to an undergraduate criminal justice student. To apply, students must have completed 60 or more credit hours, have at least a 2.67 GPA, and wish to pursue a career in policing. Deadline is March 1. Indianapolis World Police & Fire Games Scholarships
Current full-time and retired police officers and firefighters in the state of Indiana are welcome to apply for the Indianapolis World Police & Fire Games Scholarship. Recipients are eligible to receive scholarship money to pay for the cost of tuition and fees for up to four courses each year (two courses per semester, maximum). Courses must be completed at IUPUI. SPEA Alumni Association Scholarships
An award of $1,000 to three current SPEA students, undergraduate and graduate, in the last year of their program. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Hudnut Scholarship in Public Service
An award of $500 will be awarded each year to a full-time or part-time undergraduate public affairs student. An essay and resume are required. Recipient(s) will be chosen by members of the Undergraduate Policy Committee based on academic excellence and quality of application. Deadline is March 2.

Bingham McHale LLP INGroup Legislative Conference Scholarship
Award of $1,000 to a student who is pursuing a career in public service within Indiana state government. Applicants must be an undergraduate student, either full-time or part-time, and must have at least 60 credit hours or more at the time of application. Students must attend the Legislative Conference in December. SPEA students must complete an application and include their current resume. Deadline is September 8.

Plater International Scholars Scholarship
An award of $500 will be awarded each year to a full-time or part-time student who has shown a commitment to international affairs. An essay and resume are required. Recipient(s) will be chosen by members of the Scholarship Committee based on academic excellence and quality of application. Deadline is April 1.
